Håkon Anton Fagerås (@fageras_sculpture) is a Norwegian sculptor. He works within the figurative tradition, and is one of a relatively small set of sculptors working in marble.

In this series, Fagerås uses a pneumatic hammer and other carving tools to transform blocks of marble into large white pillows. He is able to recreate the look of a pillow that is so realistic, one may be tempted to put their head down on it to sleep. And while the artwork does not provide the softness one expects from a soft, fluffy mass, the skill and detail that goes into each piece is its own reward.

Internationally, Tyler Shields exhibitions attract record-breaking attendance, while his limited edition prints are some of the most sought after images in the world. In his ten-year career Shields has photographed all manner of celebrity-- Hollywood legends like Bruce Willis to tech giants like Elon Musk. Shields’ earliest work chronicles young Hollywood glitterati doing what every magazine told him could not be done, such as Lindsey Lohan running wild through Los Angeles and Emma Roberts jumping off of buildings.

Nick Thomm is an Australian Artist living and working in Los Angeles, known for his large scale, hyper-color Spectral Paintings and immersive projection installations.

Through his work Thomm explores modern color systems, abstract image construction, and the merge of traditional art with technology, resulting in a hypnotic combination of form and color.

ADA, a kinetic sculpture by Karina Smigla-Bobinski (@karinasmiglabobinski) stands out for being interactive and unpredictable; Imagine a giant ball that is filled with helium gas and its surface covered with charcoal spikes. The helium causes the ball to be suspended in the air and the charcoal sticks provide grips and a medium with which to create art.

Emerging with a highly sought after, provocative series of the year Shawn Kolodny’s gives you something to talk about. Drawing from a life spent amongst substance, addiction and materialism, as the owner and operator of New York City’s most prominent nightclubs, he has been both the observer and the subject. For Kolodny, addiction is a pathological relationship in which things replace self.

Kolodny’s work confronts the infinite cycle of fake fulfillment shaped by modern society’s addiction to ego, using the most sought-after brands and the most addictive drugs as a visual medium.

Shawn Kolodny (born 1971) is an American artist, living and working in Manhattan, New York and Miami, Florida. Kolodny received his Bachelor of Industrial Design from Syracuse University in 1994 and his MBA from Stern School of Business in 2010.

Contemporary artist Sara Pope is best known for her bold, seductive paintings of voluptuous lips. Taking inspiration from a successful career in the fashion industry as a shoe designer for brands such as Paul Smith, and also her work in magazines as a designer and art director, Sara aims to capture the sensuality and seductive power conveyed by the lips and mouth. Interested in questions of beauty, communication, and the notion of perfection, Sara uses the perspective of her commercial experience to explore these themes.

The starting point is a makeup brush and a lipstick. She paints the models’ lips, then, using tricks and techniques of makeup and lighting, she begins the process of creating the perfect lips. She asks the model, to express different emotions which she captures photographically. Using these shots as inspiration she begins the artwork. The painting process involves several layers of thin oil-diluted paint being overlaid, blending and smoothing the colours extensively at every stage, sometimes also mixing lipstick into the paint.

Emulating the stylistic slickness of advertising, the result is glossy, perfect and irresistible.

German photographer Oliver Dunsch creates street photography with a twist – instead of taking dry, almost documentary street images, he pays a lot of attention when it comes to the contact and interaction of people and their surroundings. Dunsch became involved in street photography after visiting the largest concrete jungle of our time – New York City, with its ever-changing urban scenery and lifestyle in general. Nowadays, the photographer lives and works in London and exhibits his pieces at a growing number of local galleries, museums and fairs.

David Bailey | Mick Jagger (Fur Hood), 1964

Over a career spanning more than half a century, renowned British photographer David Bailey CBE has shot everyone, from the Queen of England on her 88th birthday to Australian aboriginals and Indian sadhus; London’s Eastenders to icons of fashion, music, film, and art. Inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson, he got his start in 1959, becoming a photographer for British Vogue the following year.

With a stripped-down, direct style, he reveals the beauty and heart of all of his subjects. In his words: “The pictures I take are simple and direct and about the person I’m photographing and not about me. I spend more time talking to the person than I do taking pictures.” Bailey’s black-and-white and color portraits and fashion shoots broke down barriers of class and race with their youthful, punk aesthetic, equalizing everyone who appears before his lens.

Daisy Collingridge is an artist with an education in fashion design and a practise driven by craft. Her multi-disciplinary work investigates of the human form as the central theme.

The work sits in an awkward space between, sculpture, performance and art. The ‘flesh suits’ or ‘Squishies’ are an exploration of fabric, form and flesh. Their tactile fabric bodies and inviting colour exaggerate the warmth and softness of flesh- these elements which signify a living thing. They are visceral. There is a desire to touch. Fabric offers skin like qualities that traditional sculpting materials do not have. Unlike marble or ceramic, they will not last forever, just like skin.

The medium is more approachable and laced with meaning given that we all come into contact with fabric on a daily basis.
