John Paul Fauves
John Paul Fauves is an acclaimed Costa Rican artist who has been exploring the concept of innocence via masks and paintings on canvas. His latest exhibition ‘A Loss of Innocence’ in association with The Tax Collection has travelled the world and brought him international notoriety. Fauves’ body of work is all about hedonism versus redemption; considering himself a “neo-pop expressionist” Fauves questions how humanity develops with maturity, becoming increasingly desensitised as ultimately, we grow further away from our childhood innocence. His aim is to throw light on the dark underbelly of society and highlight the many layers of the human form (The Glass Magazine).
