For our first event of the year, Natasha Caruana will be exhibiting her work at Imitate Modern for its latest collaboration. Alongside the opening, she will be delving into why we fancy people and if there are real ways to up our chances in the dating game… she will be joined by a special guest who will enlighten you all about crystal healing in an exclusive talk. Whether you are feeling the love this Valentine’s Day, or not…Imitate Modern and Natasha Caruana are teaming up to bring you an exclusive event this February. With only 17 seats available, we are delighted to hold an intimate set of talks touching on some of the most profound and technological aspects of love. Welcomed with drinks on arrival and a display of hand-picked works from Natasha’s collections of photography, moving image and installations – it might just put your chocolate and flowers to shame. Delve deep and find out more.

Natasha Caruana is a London-based artist whose work across photography, moving image and installation has taken her pieces around the world, including the United States, France, Lithuania, Portugal, India, China, Australia and Saudi Arabia. And with a plethora of prestigious awards including the BMW Artist in Residence Award at musée Nicéphore Niepce, France. It is no surprise that her works unique way of questioning narratives based around love, fantasy and betrayal have taken her to so many places. Her latest series Married Man documents everyday love and life. Meanwhile, her other works capture the somewhat strange rituals of relationships – using mainly archives, the internet and personal narratives, her work conveys honestly and a realistic translation of storytelling.

Natasha will be joining our opening between 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm to discuss topics ranging from Dating Apps to the science of love… alongside her will be a guest speaker who will enlighten you on the powers of Crystal Healing – there will be something for everyone to enjoy. The exhibition will continue to run between February 11 – 18th. However, the opening night will be your only chance to attend the conversation with the artist and receive complimentary drinks. Her works will be on display and available to purchase on the night. So, whether you are flying solo, with a pal or bringing your partner. Imitate Modern challenges you to step out of the box his year and question the clichés.

What inspired to enter the world of photography and art?

“The reason why I entered into art…was to share the grey areas, the right and wrong in relationships. Through art, you can focus on minute details and things that are hard to discuss. I am explorative using photography, installations and drawings.”

Describe your work in 3 words…

“Unexpected. Luscious. Performative”

What can we expect at 21st Centuries Love Affections?

“The audience should expect to see and hear love, being interrogated from different angles. From personal to scientific – to the spiritual pulls of the universe.”
