Wow. What a year it has been for Imitate Modern. More shows, our first international Art Fair, two fashion collaborations, and much more.
It may have been a lot to keep up with, so we thought we could give you a little recap.
Our shows Neon Wonderland, The Mad Hatter, Obsessions of Society, Pop Rocks, Summer Edition 2018, Keeping it Real, and Down the Rabbit followed in our exhibition tradition–gaining widespread media attention including a 5 page and cover spread in the Metro! With The Mad Hatter, Keeping it Real and Obsessions of Society saw record numbers of attendance for the Private View and Keeping it Real saw a near sell out show!
Representing CB Hoyo, Rebecca Mason , Rich Simmons, Tyler Shields and our newest collaborator Zevi G(from New Jersey, USA), Imitate Modern debuted at the Scope Art Fair Miami Beach during Art Basel in the first week of December. The United States provides near half Bringing the British Invasion to Miami Beach, major pieces by these artists found homes in the private collections of buyers from around the world.
Back at home in Shepherd Market, we hosted the pop-up boutique with “Sanne“–an up and coming brand tailoring bespoke and glamorous mens and womenswear. With its home atelier in Sackville Street and born out of Savile Row, the brand has caught the eye of a variety societal gliterati from around the world as well as A-List celebrates from singers to actors.
In July, Henry Hate infused his skills as a tattoo artist with his admiration for his friend and client, the late fashion genius Alexander McQueen. Creating a line of unique tattooed pieces from the House of McQueen–clutches, the iconic knucklebox clutch and the staple Legend tote.
It has been an exciting, adventurous here at the gallery and as always we thank all of you who support us. Without your support, feedback and patronage we would not be able to work with fantastic artists and create a space for art lovers to come and express our love for art.
