“PROVOCATEUR” by Tyler Shields
3rd October – 27th November 2017
Last week we had our opening of Tyler Shields’ solo show ‘PROVOCATEUR’ at COYA Mayfair. The opening was a huge success and we are so pleased with the outcome of the night. The show is now open both at Imitate Modern Gallery & COYA Mayfair. It runs until 27th November, so if you haven’t had the opportunity to see it yet, make sure you do before its too late!
The show features some of the most iconic photographs by Shields, including series capturing the moments of destruction of various luxury objects as well as glamorous photoshoots with some of Hollywood’s best-known names. The exhibition also features a new body of work exploring the more sensual side of humanity, which is exhibited for the first time at Imitate Modern & COYA Mayfair.
Here is a short re-cap of what went on that evening…

Tyler Shields ‘Provocateur’ Book Signing
Earlier last week, we hosted a book signing event at our gallery, where the lucky few who attended had the opportunity to meet Tyler Shields, and get his second book ‘Provocateur’ signed! For those who could not make it, Tyler Shields has now signed all the books and they are available to purchase on our online shop. The exhibition catalogue is also available to be purchased at the gallery or our online shop.
‘Provocateur’ is the second book by Shields, it includes photos from his most iconic photoshoots – the Birkin series, Marie-Antoinette inspired, indulgence, submerged, and many more. The book also features new provocative photographs of rising stars Rumer Willis, Emma Roberts, Zachary Quinto, Abigail Breslin, and Sean Faris.
Imitate Modern at Moniker Art Fair
5th – 8th October 2017
For the second half of last week, we participated at the Moniker Art Fair (second year in a row!) We were thrilled to be back at one of the most exciting contemporary art fairs with its roots embedded in urban art culture. The theme for our showcase this year was Re:Creations. Our artists, CB Hoyo, Oliver Dunsch, Illuminati Neon, Cartrain and Henry Hate re-introduce the world famous pop culture icons and revive classical art masterpieces with a touch of their own signature twists.
New Limited Edition Prints by CB Hoyo
Hoyo’s works are re-interpretations of the modern art masterpieces with an addition of his own witty comments. As a self-trained artist, CB Hoyo continually produces works that celebrate life itself, but also acts as a colourful satire of society.
“Why would i paint sad things? I’d rather paint something lively and cheerful to make life happier. My work is colourful because life is beautiful and we have to enjoy it.” – CB Hoyo
