David Hockney A Bigger Book Taschen Imitate Modern Gallery London

A Bigger BookTASCHEN’S SUMO-sized David Hockney Monograph

The monumental sized book is as spectacular in front as it is in scope. In it, David Hockney takes stock of more than 60 years of work, from his teenage days at Bradford School of Art, through his breakthrough in 1960s swinging London, life by Los Angeles pools in the 1970s, up to his recent extensive series of portrait, iPad drawings, and Yorkshire landscapes.

Never before has Hockney’s oeuvre been published on such an astonishing and immersive scale. As each page unfurls in a blaze of blues, pinks, greens, oranges, we are spellbound by the artist’s vibrancy as a colourist and his extraordinary sense of the conditions of the world that surrounds us.

Limited Collector’s Edition of 9,000 signed copies, each with a Marc Newson bookstand.

Luc Waring “Registered Trademarks” Exhibition

Luc Waring’s solo exhibition “Registered Trademarks” took place at our gallery at 19 Shepherd Market, Mayfair from 16th-27th March 2017. The exhibition explored how we, both as individuals and a society, have internally registered luxury branding through advertisements. If you missed out, and didn’t get a chance to come see it, we still have a couple of pieces available on view at the gallery.

New Tyler Shields photographs on view at Imitate Modern

We are excited to introduce you to the new photographs by Tyler Shields. The series marks a new development in Shields’ style that continues to play with everyday objects depicted with luxury branding, but also expands into a more sensuous and surreal side of the provocative images. Orchid, Python Birkin II, Louis Vuitton Trunk on Fire and Chanel Champagne are all on view at the gallery.

Metin Salih ‘Monroe’ prints on view at Imitate Modern

Our new artist, Metin Salih, introduces a re-interpretation of the iconic Marilyn Monroe image, beloved by the Pop Art movement. Metin’s illustration-based background is reflected in the hyper-real and graphic nature of the work. His highly expressive work is provocative and sexy, yet able to capture the intimacy and vulnerability of his subjects at the same time. You can discover other versions of Marilyn on Artsy and at the gallery.
