Imitate Modern Presents ‘Visionary Fashion’ by Chloe Trujillo

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming exhibition “Visionary Fashion” with the incredibly talented French/American artist and fashion designer Chloe Trujillo. She is set to display her unique and exclusive works of art at our new gallery space, 19 Shepherd Market, set to take place during London Fashion Week. The week long exhibition will commence with the opening celebration on Saturday 18th February from 5:00-8:00PM.

Chloe was raised in Paris by fashion designer parents and an Opera singer father, therefore naturally she immersed herself in music, beauty, art and designer. In fact, she was also fascinated by Science, as she decided to study matter structure and quantum physics at university. However, the spirit of art remained, and this spirit eventually called her back.

Inspired by the vast range of human experience along with a deep connection to the spiritual realm, Chloe connects with her audience through the beauty of her visions, the intensity of her soulful emotions and sincerity of her intention. Influenced by elements of alchemy, mysticism and esoteric art forms, LA-based artist will be featuring her idiosyncratic works of art on special scarves – made in Italy with silk from Lake Como and fine ‘Voile de Coton’ – showcasing elements, symbols, and inscriptions from various paintings.

Finished with hand-roll stitching, each scarf is unique and precious as it is a meaningful work of art. Her scarves are currently sold at Colette in Paris, Bacci’s in Vancouver, Smets in Luxembourg, Jades in Dusseldorf, New Toyoshima Boutique in Japan, Joan Shepp in Philadelphia and Lola K in Monte Carlo.

A noted artist, musician, and fashion designer, Chloe has exhibited her unique and beautiful scarves in acclaimed exhibitions in Paris, California and London, amongst others. She has been part of LA artwalk and has exhibited her works at Copra Gallery Santa Monica. In addition, Chloe has collaborated on tours in DC, NYC, Istanbul and Berlin. Her works of art have also featured in auctions in Paris, Beverly Hills and Malibu. Recent exhibitions include Renzo Vesentini in Milan, Italy and Le Pop Up concept boutique in Venice Beach, California. Her future exhibitions include, and as yet to be officially announced, highly anticipated exhibition in Paris and the South of France. This will be the second exhibition Chloe will have done in London.

Chloe lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, and their two children. Nowadays, she balances her time between art, music and fashion, infusing each piece and project with the love and excitement she feels while creating.

Interesting Facts About Chloe Trujillo:

  • Inspired by music since childhood, Chloe spent years performing in underground death-metal and punk bands, cabaret acts, rock operas and Off-Broadway musicals. Eventually she began acknowledging and documenting the original lyrics and melodies that flowed through her whilst painting, driving and her day-to-day life, developing her own style of gypsy punk-blues-metal rock.
  • With her very long hair (she never had cut it since she was born), Chloe uses scarves as a way to create art. Some have even called her hair styles as living, ever-evolving sculpture! So what better way to translate her spiritual visions onto beautiful, mystical and colourful silk scarves?
