Help change lives and win a great prize with Centrepoint Evening Standard Auction!
Street artist Cartrain has donated a work to the Christmas Appeal auction after Centrepoint helped him through homelessness during the festive season.
“Centrepoint saved me when I was in a really bad place. Sleeping rough is horrible. It’s not something I think anyone should have to do.”
The charity placed Cartrain, now 24, in a hostel after he ended up sleeping rough in December 2014. The artist is auctioning one of his most famous works – inspired and endorsed by Turner Prize winners Gilbert & George – to help raise funds for Centrepoint’s new helpline. You can bid for it online here. It is among lots in the second online auction, launching today, which also includes the chance to train with an Olympic champion, holidays in Britain and abroad, and top sporting days out.
