Lewis Hamilton for Monster Energy

Having been commissioned by Monster Energy to paint a promotional portrait of Lewis Hamilton, this piece was then gifted by Monster to the driver on winning the Championship. As Official Artist to Formula1, Paul Oz has been cemented in the sport’s Hall of Fame, in addition to proving popular with the drivers’ (and Bernie Ecclestone’s) private collections. Oz’s second collaboration with the Lewis Hamilton team saw him create a ‘skullpture’ based on the driver’s helmet design. A style of sculpture unique to Oz, ‘skullptures’ combine elements of Formula1 design with animal skulls for an animalistic approach to art.

Jenson Button for… Jenson Button

Those lucky enough to receive a Christmas card from Jenson Button may have noticed a unique portrait of the driver on the front. Selected by Button personally, Oz’s painting of Jenson Button in the instantly recognisable pink helmet was bought by the driver, and quickly reproduced for this unique festive keepsake. Joining the long list of enviable names, Button is just one more notable fan and collector of Paul Oz’s work!

I love Paul Oz’s work and I’m really looking forward to the 80’s Kid exhibition in May. Going to come and see this and make a weekend of it in the Big Smoke!
