Advent Calendar: Day 18
See One is a self-taught, New York native with a big imagination. Comic books, Japanese animation and the colourful graffiti of the late 80s and 90s have inspired his distinct artwork, which has come to focus on the adventures of his mischievous dragon character, Miru. The comic-book adventures of Miru are in contrast with See One’s abstract works, with the term ‘Shards’ created by the artist in 2009 to describe the shapes within his artwork that resemble broken glass.
In-between painting murals at Miami’s Art Basel, he has been commissioned by Absolut Vodka for a promotional event featuring his abstract artwork.
See One exhibited in our summer show Carnival of Colour alongside New York street artists URNY.
