As ‘CARNIVAL OF COLOUR‘ draws to a close, we are taking this last opportunity to tell you about the creative forces behind the exhibition. Today, we present Ben Allen, a free-spirited artist establishing himself, not only in the surfing community, but as a firm favourite of brands and celebrities alike.
Allen’s C.V. boasts incredible achievements; his artworks appear in private collections across the globe, from Australia to Korea, and Germany to Las Vegas. Gaining attention of worldwide press, he has been featured in The Observer, The Times, Elle Deco, GQ, Design Week and Huck, to name a few…
Jade Jagger, Stephen Dorff, Rich Branson and Sophie Ellis-Bexter are notable collectors of his work, which juxtaposes vibrant colours and pop culture with a youthful rebelliousness. His pieces for Imitate Modern feature his delicate skull motif on a background reminiscent of a church’s stained-glass window. In addition to these collectors, Allen has also been commissioned by clients including Jamie Oliver, Vans, Levi’s and has created a 40ft artwork at Virgin’s headquarters.
With low edition numbers, and a history of successful shows, Allen remains highly sought after, and we consider ourselves lucky to exhibit his work in Carnival of Colour.
