Parlee ERZ first encountered the art scene at a young age and his inspiration comes from these formative years, particularly from cartoons and comic book characters. Having studied art in Hull and Nottingham, Parlee earned a BA Honours in Fine Art and proved a huge success at his degree show. Mixing both figurative drawing and what was learnt from his time at art college, results in an almost innocent and very unique style of work. With his origins firmly rooted on the street with a spray can at hand, it’s fascinating to see the progression through his work, as he briefly experimented on canvas and now uses perspex to capture the colours and light of the characters, instantly bringing them to life. Parlee’s signature subjects, Rocket and Plugs, keeps us intrigued and entertained on their endless adventures from paper to concrete, around London and all over the internet.
Parlee also volunteers for a youth organisation called Art is the Cure, founded by Rich Simmons, teaching young people how to be creative with spray paint and on making their own street art.
