Queen portrait: Who did it better?
A new portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II, which marks Her Majesty’s six decades as a patron of the British Red Cross was unveiled last Friday. In the painting by the artist Henry Ward, the Queen wears her garter robes as she sits in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle.
The Queen is an inspiration for many artists including our own Paul Oz and Henry Hate, who portrait the monarch in their own distinctive styles.
